Filter Replacement in Return Air Filter Grills

 Need help replacing your filter? Please enjoy this brief “how-to” video created by Bob’s Heating & Air Conditioning. We also respond to recent feedback concerns about general filter replacement.

Change a Standard 4-Inch Pleated Filter Every 90 Days

Every furnace installed by Bob’s Heating comes with a standard 1 Year filter program where a 4-inch pleated filter is delivered to your home every 90 days as a reminder to change your filter. Changing your filter regularly ensures the life and longevity of your equipment, plus it provides healthy, quality indoor air. Change a Standard Electronic Air Cleaner Filter

Electronic Air Cleaners, or EACs, clean the air by literally electrocuting dust, dirt and other air particulates out of the air. Please watch this video to learn more about effectively cleaning and changing the filters in your EAC.

Troubleshooting Tips

Gas Furnace Troubleshooting Tips
  1. Check to make sure that your thermostat is set in the “heat” position.
  2. Make sure that the temperature setting on the thermostat is set above (or higher than) the indoor temperature showing on the thermostat.
  3. Ensure that there is power to the furnace. Try turning the fan to “ON” using the fan switch on the thermostat to test for power to furnace.
  4. Check the circuit breakers at the electrical panel.
  5. Check the Safety Shut Off Switch (it looks like a light switch) located at or near the furnace to be sure it is in the “ON” position.
  6. Has the furnace filter been replaced recently?
  7. Check all return air grilles and supply air registers to make sure they are not blocked by furniture and to make sure they are open and blowing air.
Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Troubleshooting Tips
  1. Check to make sure that your thermostat is set in the “cool” position.
  2. Make sure that the temperature setting on the thermostat is set below (or lower than) the indoor temperature showing on the thermostat.
  3. Check the circuit breakers at the electrical panel. Make sure they are all in the “ON” position.
  4. Check the outdoor unit “disconnect switch” to make sure it is in the “ON” position. The disconnect switch is located near the outdoor unit.
  5. Check the Safety Shut Off Switch (it looks like a light switch) located at or near the furnace to be sure it is in the “ON” position.
  6. Has the filter been replaced recently?
  7. Check all return air grilles and supply air registers to make sure they are not blocked by furniture and to make sure they are open and blowing air.
